TABLE FOR TWO: Steak and Blue Cheese Panini

I will admit there is a lot of preparation that goes into this panini. I created this as a surprise for my other half because I just wanted to do something fun for him!

Full time 45 minutes
Serves 2

The needs-

For caramelized onions:
1 large white onion, sliced
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar

For steak:
1 lb. (6 thin sliced) skillet steaks
1 tbsp Bada seasoning

For Panini:
4 oz thin sliced blue cheese
4-6 slices potato bread (or rye bread)

The know-

Starting with onions. In a saute pan combine onions, olive oil, sugar, and salt. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally until they have become soft and golden in color, this takes roughly 10-12 minutes.

Once onions are done remove from pan and return pan to heat to get it hot. Season steaks on both sides with Bada seasoning.

Cook/Sear in pan for 2 minutes per side.

Once cooked/seared on both sides pull from heat.

Now gather your parts to create your panini. Start by getting panini grill heated.

Here is a close up of how thin you will want the blue cheese.

Place bread on panini grill.

Top with two-three pieces of steak.

Top with cheese.

Top with onions.

Top with bread.

Press and let cook for 5-8 minutes.

When cooked you should have a nice golden sear on the outside of the bread.
