MAKE IT: Chinese Duck Sauce
Duck sauce is probably the most highly recognized condiment in a Chinese take-away restaurant. It's beautiful sweet flavor pairs well with almost every dish there is. I have a friend who loves Chinese take-away and is constantly opening these little packets of duck sauce. So I decided just to teach him how to make it instead, alright BF this one is for you.
Full Time 10 minutes
Makes 1 cup sauce (but easily multiples)
3/4 cup apricot jam
1/3 cup rice vinegar (white is preferred)
2 tbsp plum jam
1 1/2 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp dried red pepper flakes
1 tsp minced ginger root or 1/4 tsp ginger powder
1/2 tsp soy sauce
Combine all ingredients in a personal blender and pulse until even in texture.
Refrigerate for at least an hour prior to use. Cheers!
