CHRISTMAS COOKIES: Peanut Butter Blossom Cookies

This highly recognizable cookie is the staple "must have" of any holiday cookie tray. Originally entered in the Pillsbury bake-off, this classic cookie has delighted us for decades. My version is actually only slightly modified from the original, why mess with perfection?

Full time 1 1/2 hours (includes baking multiple batches and cooling)
Makes approximately 60 cookies

You will need:

1 egg
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 cup sugar
12oz bag (unwrapped) Hersey "Kisses"

Let us begin:

Preheat oven to 350'.

In a large bowl cream together sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, and butter.

Add in egg.

Add in baking soda, baking powder, and 1/2 cup flour.

Add in remaining flour stirring only until dough forms.

Scoop out and roll 1 1/2 tsp size balls.

Bake in oven for 8-10 minutes or until edges turn golden.

Remove cookies from oven and place one kiss into the center of each.

Allow cookies to cool on tray 1-2 minutes.

Move cookies to cooling rack to finish cooling completely. Enjoy!
