This highly recognizable cookie is the staple "must have" of any holiday cookie tray. Originally entered in the Pillsbury bake-off, this classic cookie has delighted us for decades. My version is actually only slightly modified from the original, why mess with perfection?
Full time 1 1/2 hours (includes baking multiple batches and cooling)
Makes approximately 60 cookies
You will need:
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
12oz bag (unwrapped) Hersey "Kisses"
Let us begin:
Preheat oven to 350'.
In a large bowl cream together sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter, and butter.
Add in egg.
Add in baking soda, baking powder, and 1/2 cup flour.
Add in remaining flour stirring only until dough forms.
Scoop out and roll 1 1/2 tsp size balls.
Bake in oven for 8-10 minutes or until edges turn golden.
Remove cookies from oven and place one kiss into the center of each.
Allow cookies to cool on tray 1-2 minutes.
Move cookies to cooling rack to finish cooling completely. Enjoy!
