Salted Carmel Chocolate Chip Cookies

Inspired by my favorite Starbucks drink, Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate. These cookies bring a little sweet, a little salt, and a whole lot of flavor! If your looking for a great new treat or a jazzed up cookie with an adult flare this is the perfect cookie for you.

Makes approximately 36 cookies
Full time 1 hour (includes baking multiple batches and cool time)

You will need:

1 box devils food cake mix
2 eggs
2 cup miniature pretzels
1 cup chocolate chip cookies
1/2 cup caramel pieces
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup caramel sauce or topping
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp vanilla

Sea salt for topping

Let us begin:

In a large mixing bowl melt butter and then allow it to cool for 5-8 minutes.

While butter cools, take your pretzels and place them in a sandwich bag.

Whack them a few times with a rolling pin or flat surface until nicely broken.

Once cool add in cake mix and vanilla. Stir to well combine.

Add in eggs. Stir to well combine.

Add in caramel sauce. You will now have a slightly loose dough.

Add in flour and stir well, you should now have a nice shape-able dough.

Finally add in your caramel pieces, pretzel pieces and chocolate chip.

Place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.

Once it is cooled, preheat oven to 350.

Shape balls of cookie dough into 1 tbsp-ish balls. Spacing 1 1/2"-2" apart.

Gently flatten with a fork.

Sprinkle with salt lightly.

Bake in oven for 10 minutes.

While this sheet is baking, keep remaining dough in refrigerator. You do not want to bake more than 1 sheet at a time as they are oddly heat sensitive and the bottoms will burn easily.

Also do not let dough sit out, because as mentioned it is heat sensitive and it will become a sticky mess.

Once baked remove from oven and let cool on cookie sheet for 5 minutes.

Move to wire rack to complete cooking.

Move to serving plate and enjoy!
