BAKE IT: Peanut Butter Doughnuts

Doughnuts, everyone loves doughnuts. There are so many types and kinds of doughnuts out there. My favorite are the cake style doughnuts and the best part of cake doughnuts is they can be baked not fried. This is one of my favorite types of doughnuts, the peanut butter is so perfect for the mornings, and the smiles that follow are the best part!

Full time: 1 hour (includes cooling time)
Makes 6 crullers or 12 doughnuts

You will need:

1 egg
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar 
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp butter, slightly melted
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt 

* optional 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Let us begin:

Preheat your oven to 350.

In a large mixing bowl cream together butter and peanut butter.

Add in sugar and brown sugar, mixing until light and fluffy.

Add in egg, milk, vanilla, salt, and baking powder, along with 1/4 cup flour. Stir just until combined.

Add in remaining flour and stir until a soft slightly loose dough or thick batter forms.

Gold in chocolate chips if using.

Divided evenly into you doughnut pan, roughly 2/3 full.

Bake in oven 20-22 minutes until they begin to golden on top, and interred toothpick comes out clean.

Allow to rest in pan 5 minutes.

Flip out into wire rack and let cool completely, enjoy!
