HOW TO: Make Seasoned Diced Tomatoes

Diced tomatoes are extremely useful and can be found in a large variety of dishes/recipes. Several restaurants use them on pizzas topped with fresh sliced basil and shredded mozzarella. It makes a great meal and is one of my favorite pizzas to make. In addition you can use them in salads, sautés, sauces, and whatever your imagination brings.

They are easy to make and you will never want to buy canned again. You just need a few things to get started.

2-3 large ripe tomatoes
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 tbsp finely chopped fresh basil
1 tsp minced garlic
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper

To begin, diced your tomatoes down into 1/4" pieces.

Place them in a mixing bowl.

 Add in olive oil, salt, and pepper. 

Stir to fully coat. Add in minced garlic and basil.

Stir to fully incorporate. Use and enjoy!
