Breakfast Oven Omlete

Breakfast is a great start to the day. It gets your day setup, with flavors and tastes you dreamed about all night. Most mornings breakfast needs to be simple, quick, or even on the go. But occasionally there is a little more time in the morning for something fancier. Oven baked egg casseroles, quiches, and pies are a great way to explore the fancy side of breakfast. Here is a great oven omelet to get you started.

Serves 4
Full time: 50-60 minutes
You will need:

1/2 lb. bacon
2 eggs
1 cup shredded cheddar
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Bisquick
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tbsp salt
1/2 tbsp ground black pepper
1/2 tbsp onion powder

Let us begin:

Preheat oven to 350

Spray a pie plate with cooking spray, spread cheese across bottom and set aside

Your going to want to cook the bacon down before we bake the pie. I like to start with frozen bacon and cut the whole pound in half

Then I slice it into wedges 1/4" thick, this cooks down nicely and saves the time of having to wait for your bacon to cook slice by slice, cool, then chop up.

Cook your chopped bacon over medium high heat until it begins to brown

Once it starts to brown, mix in the brown sugar and cook additional 5 minutes to caramelize

While this caramelizes, mix all remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl

Now that the bacon is ready, drain out excess oil and top cheese with bacon

Pour batter mixture over the top

Bake in oven for 30-40 minutes or until firm in the middle

Allow to cool for a few moments then gently slide onto serving plate
