Singapore style BBQ pork

Singapore style pork roast is a great way to experience the flavors of the east. I like to serve this along side a pan seared vegetable or rice. The complex flavor is actually quite easy to create. In fact if you can cook a roast, then this will be a breeze.

If desired start this the in the morning before heading out for the day, or even the night before.

Makes enough sauce for a 1.5-2.5 lb. roast. So this can serve 4-8 people based on roast size
Full time: 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hour (based on roast size)
You will need:

1.5 to 2.5 pork roast, trimmed of fat
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsp honey
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp crushed red pepper flakes
2 tbsp sesame seeds
2 tbsp garam marsala (recipe available November 2011)
1 tbsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp ground ginger
1 tbsp garlic powder

Let us begin:

In a large bowl mix all ingredients, except pork. Whisk to combine well

Place pork in bowl and rotate a few times to cover all sides

Cover with clear plastic wrap and stick in refrigerator. You want this to marinade at least 4 hours

Preheat oven to 375

Place roast in a baking dish and place in oven

When pork is cooked thru, remove from oven and let rest 10 minutes before cutting.

Serve and enjoy
